Doemens NIR Calibration Service
The Doemens Calibration Service renders services within the scope of a voluntary and independent analysis group, enabling members to analyze grains and malt with centrally conducted calibrations.
This puts members in the position to carry out product analyses on a recognized neutral basis with a uniform calibration in line with objective standards. This creates the bases for consensual evaluation of products through consistent analysis.
All breweries, malteries, mills, trade associations and institutes can join the group.
The member-oriented services are monitored with different control mechanisms
- All members have the option of processing their own range of samples in calibration thus directly influencing the calibrations.
- The chemical examinations are carried out by neutral reference institutes (Weihenstephan research centre for brewing and food quality, Freising; Federal Institute for Research on Grain, Potatoes and Fat, Detmold).
The Doemens calibration service currently offers the following calibrations. Parameters offered and maintained:
| Calibration | Parameters |
|---|---|
| Green malt | Water content (30-50%) |
| Barley | Water content*, protein content |
| Wheat | Water content*, protein content, sedimentation value, gluten content |
| Barley malt | Water content, fine and coarse grind extract yield, protein content, soluble nitrogen |
| Wheat malt | Water content, fine and coarse grind extract yield, protein content, soluble nitrogen |
*this parameter is calibrated by customs.
