In 1895, Dr. Albert Doemens wrote into the journal of the newly founded 1st Munich Brewery Academy: That "the insight that practical knowledge, observance and sharpening of the senses form the most essential foundation for a successful career as a brewer shall become second nature to scholars".

With this vision, Dr. Albert Doemens laid the foundation for today's concept with which Doemens has become an institution in the international brewery, beverage and food industry.

The Most Important Milestones of the Last Decades

  • Establishment of the non-profit society of the Doemens school in 1965
  • Inauguration of the 5 hl pilot brewery, the bottling and packaging pilot plant in 1980
  • Expansion of the Doemens academy into a four semester technical college,
  • National accreditation as technical academy in 1992
  • 1st training course "process manager beverage industry" in 1982
  • 1st training course "process manager food industry" in 1989
  • 1st training course "commercial manager beverage industry" in 1993
  • Establishment of the World Brewing Academy (wba) in cooperation with the Chicago Siebel Institute in 2000
  • Start of the Internet distance learning program (web based training "Brewing Technology") in 2003

 

Since 1980, about a thousand graduates, that are today holding responsible positions in companies in the brewery and beverage industry in more than 80 countries around the world, received their qualification from Doemens.

Within the scope of the newly developed business plan, Doemens started off into the new millennium with customer-oriented strategic goals, new organization and management, a refreshed corporate design and a rejuvenated team.
